The Belgian media has recently reported on an investment project related to the building of gas fired power plants in Belgium, by a holding company called BTK, reportedly (co-)managed by a Mr. Marc Segers. The relevant press reports contained a reference to statements by Mr. Segers concerning an alleged involvement of Qatargas in this project. The reports allege that Qatargas provided funding to investment funds managed by BTK or Mr. Segers, and committed to supply gas to them at attractive conditions. Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) categorically denies such baseless claims and affirms that they are incorrect and misleading. Qatargas has not engaged with BTK or Mr. Segers, nor has any entity managed by Qatargas done so.
